Ohio FAQ

Common questions from customers shipping from Ohio.

How long does shipping take from Ohio to your Arlington TX workshop?
USPS Priority Mail from Columbus, OH reaches our Arlington workshop in about 2 business days. USPS Priority routes northeast through the Central network; typically 2 days. We start work the same day your module arrives and ship back next business day at the return speed you chose at checkout.
How much does it cost to ship a module from Ohio?

The customer pays shipping to us; return shipping back to Ohio is selected at checkout — $14.95 standard (3-5 business days), $29.95 UPS 2-Day, or $74.95 UPS Next Day Air, flat nationwide. Cross-region northeast — about 2 days each way.
Do you accept gpec2 / 2a / 3 / 4 / 4lm pcm unlocking modules from Ohio?
Yes — we receive modules from Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo and the rest of Ohio regularly. With about 9.5 million registered vehicles statewide, trucks, SUVs & imports are the bulk of what we see from Ohio.
Is there a gpec2 / 2a / 3 / 4 / 4lm pcm unlocking shop in Columbus I should use instead?
Most Columbus shops don't keep the bench equipment for gpec2 / 2a / 3 / 4 / 4lm pcm unlocking — they'd forward the module to a specialist anyway, which adds a markup and a middleman. Going direct to us is usually faster and cheaper. Cross-region northeast — about 2 days each way.
Does Ohio vehicle inspection or emissions testing affect this service?
Ohio requires emissions testing (E-Check) only in the seven-county Cleveland-Akron area; the rest of the state is exempt. Our service is bench module programming only — you remain responsible for your vehicle's compliance with all Ohio and federal requirements.
Will the unlock be detected by the dealer?
The unlock itself isn't outwardly visible — the module operates identically and reports normally to OBD-II. However, if you flash a non-stock tune AFTER unlocking, the dealer scan tool will see modified calibration values. To return to dealer-detectable-stock state, use our Stock OEM Re-Programming service.
What's the difference between this and your "Stock Re-Programming" service?
Unlock = removes the security so the module can be tuned. Stock Re-Programming = flashes the module back to factory OEM calibration. You'd use unlock BEFORE tuning, and stock re-programming AFTER (e.g., before selling, before warranty work, or after a failed tune).
