Do you accept toyota/lexus ecu immobilizer reset (add keys) modules from California?
Yes — we receive modules from Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, Sacramento and the rest of California regularly. With about 31 million registered vehicles statewide, European luxury (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) are the bulk of what we see from California.
Is there a toyota/lexus ecu immobilizer reset (add keys) shop in Los Angeles I should use instead?
Most Los Angeles shops don't keep the bench equipment for toyota/lexus ecu immobilizer reset (add keys) — they'd forward the module to a specialist anyway, which adds a markup and a middleman. Going direct to us is usually faster and cheaper. Cross-country west — about 2-3 days each way.
Does California vehicle inspection or emissions testing affect this service?
California requires a biennial Smog Check emissions inspection in most counties through the BAR program. Our service is bench module programming only — you remain responsible for your vehicle's compliance with all California and federal requirements.
I only have the valet (sub) key — why can't a locksmith just add keys?
On these systems only a master key can authorize new-key registration through the ignition. A valet/sub key starts the car but has no authority to add keys, so OBD programming hits a wall. The bench reset clears the master-key registers so your new keys register as masters — it's the standard fix for the valet-key-only trap.
Do you supply and cut the new key?
Yes — a new transponder key with the correct chip (4C for most ~1997–2003, 4D-67/68 for most ~2003–2010) is included with the service, cut and programmed so it's ready to start the car the moment the module goes back in. To cut the blade we need one of two things in the box: your driver- or passenger-side door lock (we decode the key code from it) or a current key blade we can copy — a blade cannot be cut from the VIN alone.
