Toyota & Lexus ECU Immobilizer Reset — Bench ECM Flash to Add New Keys (1997–2010 Turn-Key)
Older turn-key Toyota or Lexus with no master key? Mail in your engine ECU and we reset the immobilizer EEPROM on the bench and include a new cut transponder key ready to start the car — security stays intact, no dealer ECM replacement.
Turn-key (metal-blade) Toyota & Lexus with ECU-based immobilizer, roughly 1997–2010 — 4C and 4D transponder systems (verified by VIN + module label). Later G-chip systems confirmed case-by-case.

Will This Fix My Problem?
Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.
Fixes:
- ✓You lost every master key on an older turn-key Toyota/Lexus and the car cranks but will not start
- ✓You only have a valet / sub key, so new keys cannot be added through the ignition
- ✓Security light flashes and the engine dies immediately after starting
- ✓You installed a used engine ECM and want it to learn your keys with security intact
- ✓Dealer or locksmith OBD key programming failed because no master key exists
- ✓Salvage or restoration project with no keys — keeping the factory immobilizer
Won't fix:
- ✗Does not cover push-to-start smart-key vehicles (see the Toyota/Lexus Smart-Key AKL service)
- ✗Does not remove the immobilizer (see the Toyota/Lexus Denso IMMO Off service if you want it deleted)
- ✗Does not cut a blade from the VIN alone — ship your driver- or passenger-side door lock (or a current key blade) with the module so we can cut the included key
- ✗Does not repair a worn ignition lock cylinder, steering lock, or column damage
- ✗Does not fix a no-start caused by fuel, spark, battery, or starter faults
- ✗Does not repair an engine ECU that is internally dead (ask about ECU clone options)
- ✗Does not bypass proof of ownership
Lost the master key? You don't need a dealer ECM
On these older Toyota and Lexus systems, only a master key can authorize adding keys through the ignition — a valet/sub key can start the car but can never register new keys. When the master is gone, the dealer's answer is often a replacement ECM at four figures plus a tow. The bench reset restores the ECU to a fresh state, and the new transponder key we cut and supply is programmed in as a master — reinstall the module, turn the key, and drive. Proof of ownership (title, registration, or bill of sale) is required before any key or immobilizer work, and the customer is responsible for compliance with local, state, and federal law.
Shipping Instructions
These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.
Verify first: text or email us your VIN and a photo of the engine ECU label (and proof of ownership) — a technician confirms whether your immobilizer lives in the engine ECU or a separate transponder ECU and tells you exactly which module to send. Once verified, remove the module and ship it — along with your driver- or passenger-side door lock or a current key blade so we can cut the included transponder key — to PO Box 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship USPS — or 1168 W Pioneer Parkway, Arlington TX 76013 if you ship UPS or FedEx (UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box). We reset the ECU, cut and program your new key, test everything, and ship it all back via the return option you pick at checkout (Standard $14.95, UPS 2-Day $29.95, or UPS overnight $74.95).
What to include in your box
- The engine ECU (ECM) — or the separate transponder ECU if a technician directs you to send that instead
- Your driver- or passenger-side door lock OR a current key blade — so we can cut the new transponder key we include
- Year, make, model, and engine (e.g. 2004 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L)
- VIN of the vehicle
- Proof of ownership (title, registration, or bill of sale)
- Whether this is all-keys-lost, valet-key-only, or a used-ECM swap
- A clear photo of the ECU part-number label
- Your name, return address, and phone number
