VW / Audi BCM2 Clone to a Donor Module (2008-2016 A4, A5, Q5)

A failed BCM2 does not have to mean an all-keys-lost re-do: we clone your original onto a donor so your keys, CS data, and coding all carry over plug-and-play.

Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • BCM2 failure with intermittent electrical faults on a B8/8T/8R Audi
  • Want to avoid an all-keys-lost re-key after a module swap
  • A used donor BCM2 that will not accept the car as-is
  • Water or connector damage to the original BCM2

Won't fix:

  • All keys already lost with a healthy module — that is the BCM2 AKL read
  • On-car OBD coding after installation — done by your locksmith/shop
  • Non-BCM2 platforms — send the part number first
  • Mechanical key/lock faults

Keep the identity, replace the hardware

A BCM2 is not a generic part; it carries the car's component-security identity. Swapping in a used one creates two problems where you had one. Cloning your original onto the donor keeps the identity intact — the keys, the immobilizer handshake, and the coding all travel to the new hardware, and the car behaves as though nothing was touched.

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Will my keys still work after the clone?
Yes — if the original still reads, the donor carries your complete component-security identity, so your keys and the immobilizer see the same module they always have. Nothing is re-learned.
What if my original BCM2 is completely dead?
Then a full clone is not possible, and the job becomes preparing the donor so your locksmith can program keys to it — closer to the all-keys-lost path. Tell us up front if the original is dead; it changes what you should ship and what to expect.
Where do I get a donor?
eBay, salvage yards, and parts recyclers all carry these. Send us the part number of your candidate before you buy — BCM2 variants must match, and verifying first saves you a wasted purchase.
Do I still need a locksmith?
For a clean clone of a readable original, usually not — it goes in plug-and-play. For a dead-original donor prep, yes, the on-car key programming is done by your locksmith or shop after it is installed.
