Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • All keys lost — no remaining working key to clone from
  • Need a spare/second key but the dealer wants $400-$600+
  • Cluster or dashboard replaced and the new one won't accept your key
  • Immobilizer light on / cranks but won't run from a key mismatch
  • Used/salvage cluster that needs immo data aligned to your car

Won't fix:

  • MQB / immo5 cars where security is spread across modules (Golf 7, A3 8V and later) — different service, ask first
  • Mechanical lock / ignition cylinder failures (this is electronic key programming)
  • A faulty or dead ECU (cluster programming won't revive a dead ECU)
  • Kessy / comfort hardware failures unrelated to the immobilizer dataset

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Do you need a working key to program one?
No. We read the immobilizer data directly from the cluster's EEPROM on the bench, so all-keys-lost jobs are routine — that's exactly when this beats an OBD-only locksmith.
What's the difference between the older clusters and the UDS ones?
Older 2006-2010 immo4 clusters typically run a NEC processor with a 24C32 EEPROM over CAN. From ~2010-2017 the UDS clusters use NEC + 24C64 and carry Component Security (CS) we extract on the bench. Both are covered.
What exactly do I mail in?
The instrument cluster (dashboard) in most cases, or the Kessy module on push-button keyless-start cars. Include any keys you have and your VIN.
Will this work on a Golf 7 or newer A3 (MQB)?
Those use the immo5/MQB architecture where security lives across several modules — a different process. Send us your VIN before shipping and we'll tell you honestly if it fits.
Do you need the door lock to cut a key?
For a blade cut on an all-keys-lost job, yes — send a door lock cylinder or your key code so we can cut the blade. If you already have a cut key to program, you don't need the lock.
